ملخص: | This study aimed to identify the level of digital skills and professional competence among social workers in Nazareth and its surroundings. It also sought to explore the nature of the relationship between digital skills and professional competence and to examine the impact of variables such as gender, age, place of residence, educational qualifications, years of experience, and workplace on this relationship. The study employed a descriptive-analytical methodology and used a questionnaire to collect data from a sample of social workers operating in the region. The study results revealed that the level of digital skills among social workers was high, with the arithmetic mean of the sample's evaluations reaching (3.72) and a percentage of (74.4%). The highest-rated skills were the ability to use basic computer programs like Word and Excel, with an arithmetic mean of (4.19) and a percentage of (83.8%). Regarding professional competence, the results also indicated a high level, with an arithmetic mean of (3.76) and a percentage of (75.2%). The most notable competencies included prioritizing tasks and time management to achieve professional goals. The study uncovered a statistically significant correlation between digital skills and professional competence among social workers. Additionally, the results showed statistically significant differences in the level of digital skills and professional competence based on age and workplace variables. However, no statistically significant differences were observed based on gender, educational qualifications, place of residence, or years of experience. In light of these findings, the study recommends providing intensive and diverse training programs to enhance the digital and professional skills of social workers, with a focus on utilizing modern technologies to improve professional competence. Furthermore, it suggests organizing interactive workshops aimed at raising awareness about the importance of digital skills and their role in improving professional performance. |
