Abstract: The study aimed to identify anxiety about the future and its relationship to the tendency towards reluctance to marry among a sample of Palestinian youth in the Hebron Governorate. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive correlational approach, and the size of the study sample was (300) of unmarried Palestinian youth in the Hebron Governorate for the academic year. 2023-2024, the researcher used a measure of future anxiety, and a measure of the trend toward abstaining from marriage. The results indicated that the arithmetic average for future anxiety as a whole was (3.11), with a percentage of (62.2) and an average estimate. The results of the arithmetic average for the trend toward abstaining from marriage as a whole were (2.76). ) with a percentage of (55.2) and an average estimate. The results also indicated the existence of a positive and statistically significant correlation between anxiety about the future and the tendency toward abstaining from marriage, as the value of the Pearson correlation coefficient reached (.664**), and it was found that there was a statistically significant effect of anxiety about the future in prediction. There is a tendency toward abstention from marriage, which means that anxiety about the future is an influential factor in the tendency toward abstention from marriage. The results of the study also indicated that there are differences in anxiety about the future according to gender, as the differences were in favor of males, and there were differences according to the academic qualification variable among (less than high school) ) and (Bachelor’s degree), and the differences were in favor of (less than high school), while the results indicated that there were no statistically significant differences depending on the variables of age and place of residence. As for the trend towards refraining from marriage, the results indicated that there were differences in the trend towards refraining from marriage. Marriage among a sample of Palestinian youth in the Hebron Governorate was attributed to the variable of gender and in favor of males, and the presence of differences according to the variable of place of residence and in favor of the village, while there were no differences in the tendency towards abstention from marriage according to the variables of age and educational qualification.
