Abstract: This research is aimed at identifying the phenomenon of the linguistic argument and the nature of citations in Lisan Al Arab (The Tongue of Arabs). It further examines them in light of the modern semantic lesson, the semantic fields and their branches. Accordingly, the researcher matches the vocabulary citations to their domains and branches, and this study reveals semantic categories falling together to reflect the image of the Arab life. The dissertation is divided into an Abstract, Introduction, Preamble, Two Chapters and a Conclusion, including the results and recommendations followed by the list of sources and references. The preamble gives defining insights into the linguistic evidence generally and technically; evidence motives, evidence conditions, its temporal and spatial limits, and its sources. The abovementioned preamble is a vehicle to the First Chapter which comprises Al Lisan citations in the entry of the letter (M) (a study on the linguistic investigation) falling into three topics. The First of which concerns itself with Al Lisan citations in the entry of the letter (M). The Second Topic on the other hand focuses on the types of citations. And finally the Third Topic elucidates Lisan Al Arab citations in light of the modern semantic lesson. The researcher, in this part of the research, does present a statistical tabulation of the citations in the entry of the letter (M), with the percentages of the citations in their different figures. The Second Chapter addresses the semantic fields of the nature of citations in Lisan Al Arab (the Tongue of Arabs) in the entry of the letter (M). This chapter includes six topics: The First Topic revolves around Semantics. The Second Topic is the first general semantic field; mankind, his body, his limbs and the stages of his life. The Third Topic: The second general semantic field;mankind, his lineage, kinship, and his individual and social relations. The Fourth Topic: The third general semantic field: animals, birds and insects. The Fifth Topic: The fourth semantic field;nature (manifestations and phenomena). The Sixth Topic: The fifth general semantic field, materials, types and categories. Thereto are attached statistical tables and graphics, demonstrating the percentages of the semantic fields and their branches. Finally, the research is concluded, providing the researcher’s results and recommendations along with the list of sources and references.
