This study aims to examine the relationship between digital distraction and psychological stress among students at Al-Quds Open University. It also explores the levels of digital distraction and psychological stress and identifies the contribution of gender, academic achievement, and the number of daily hours of smart device use to these variables. The study uses the descriptive correlational method, and the research instruments are administered to a convenience sample of (295) students from Al-Quds Open University.

The results show the existence of a statistically significant positive correlation between digital distraction and psychological stress among the students of Al-Quds Open University. Additionally, the results indicate that the levels of digital distraction and psychological stress are moderate. Moreover, the results show the absence of statistically significant differences in the level of digital distraction and psychological stress attributed to gender, and the existence of statistically significant differences in the level of digital distraction and psychological stress attributed to academic achievement and the number of daily hours of smart device use.

The study recommends developing training programs that raise students’ awareness of the importance of time management and balanced use of smart devices to help reduce digital distraction and psychological stress.</summary>

Authors: Haroon, Israa'
Abstract: The study aims to identify the levels of compulsive shopping and their relationship to the self-concept of Al-Quds Open University students. It also aims to determine the differences in each of these levels in regards with the variables of gender, place of residence, and economic level. The descriptive correlational approach was employed through the application of compulsive shopping and self-concept scales on an available sample, the size of which was (365) students from Al-Quds University. Among them are (117) male students and (239) female students.&#xD;
 The results of the study show that the arithmetic mean of compulsive shopping as a whole, reached an average of (2.86) with a percentage (57.2%), and that the arithmetic mean of the physical self-concept as a whole was high (4.17), with a percentage of (83.4%). The results also indicate that there are statistically significant differences between the average scores of the sample’s responses to the two scales in the domain of compulsive shopping: the pleasure resulting from the purchase, and the negative feelings resulting from the purchase which are attributed to the variable of (gender), in favor of the females. The results show, as well, that there are statistically significant differences between the means of the self-concept that are attributed to the gender variable in favor of the females. Furthermore, the results point out that there is no correlation between compulsive shopping and self-concept among Al-Quds Open University students, as the value of the Pearson correlation coefficient was (085.)</summary>

The results show that the average of social media addiction was (3.21), with a percentage (64.2%), and a moderate level. The results show that the average of social isolation is (2.66), with a percentage (53.2%), and a moderate level. The average of feeling psychological loneliness is (2.58), with a percentage (51.6%), and a moderate level also. The results indicates that there are no statistically significant differences at the level (α≥.05) in social media addiction due to: gender, specialization, place of residence, while the differences are statistically significant in social isolation according to the specialization, in favor of: (Arts), (Social and Family Development), and (Administrative and Economic Sciences). As well as the presence of statistically significant differences in the feeling of psychological loneliness according to specialization, in favor of (Arts), (Social and Family Development), (Administrative and Economic Sciences).&#xD;
The results reveal a positive statistically significant relationship between social media addiction and social isolation and psychological loneliness. The value of the Pearson correlation coefficient is (.534) and (.440) respectively, and there is a direct statistically significant relationship between social isolation and a sense of psychological loneliness among students, as the value of the Pearson correlation coefficient is (.846). The results indicates that there is a statistically significant effect of social isolation in predicting feelings of psychological loneliness, it is noted that the social isolation variable has explained (71.6%) of the percentage of variance in feelings of psychological loneliness, that is, the social isolation variable has an important and basic role in predicting feelings of psychological loneliness. It does not contribute significantly to predicting the level of psychological loneliness.</summary>
